We generally use java 8 for development. Previously 2020-06 version of Papyrus used to work but after receiving a laptop with Bigsur when I installed same version with java 8 Papyrus never came up it always says "Failed to create java virtual machine"

below is the /usr/libexec/java_home -V

Matching Java Virtual Machines (2):
1.8.291.10 (x86_64) "Oracle Corporation" - "Java" /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home
1.8.0_291 (x86_64) "Oracle Corporation" - "Java SE 8" /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_291.jdk/Contents/Home
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home

I even tried giving the path in vm in info.plist "/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_291.jdk/Contents/Home"

Hi,
2020-06 runs with JDK 1.8.
From 2020-12 papyrus 5.0 runs with jdk11.
What is exaclty the version of papyrus you want to use?
Papyrus Team,

I tried both the versions that you mentioned Papyrus is not working on BigSur. It always throws error. I tried all the fixes available on internet none of them worked. Finally I installed plugin in eclipse and I am using the eclipse plugin.

Just FYI: New Papyrus installation on BigSur doesnt work

I installed with success in Monterey Apple silicon.
1. install papyrus-2020-12-5.0.0-macosx64
2. install jdk-11.0.13.jdk
3. added to Info.plist
<string>-vm</string><string>/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk-11.0.13.jdk/Contents/Home/bin/java</string>
