Dear sirs,

A few weeks ago we read antlr will upgrade to 4.7.1
We tried to change linux, eclipse, antlr ... did not work with titan.

A week ago titan release 8.0.0 happened.
Still not working with antlr 4.7.1
We checked release notes for new version ... empty.
Why release 8.0.0 if there is no changes?

We checked "Code frequency" and "Commits" on github.
Little work done in 1 year.
Developers focus on other project?

Now we found different release of 8.0.0, with small release notes.
Why second version of version 8.0.0?

Should we keep use 4.3 antlr, should we wait for new 8.0.0 titan version?
Is titan production getting smaller?

Hope, you have nice day
Kurt

Hi Kurt,

Where did you find the empty release notes?

Please note that the Titan project moved to GitLab: https://gitlab.eclipse.org/eclipse/titan
You can find the relevant topic here: https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/t/1107586/
The release notes are available here: https://gitlab.eclipse.org/eclipse/titan/titan.core/-/blob/master/usrguide/releasenotes/releasenotes.adoc
Also, more details are provided about the recent changes/improvements here: https://gitlab.eclipse.org/eclipse/titan/titan.core/-/blob/master/usrguide/TITAN_change_log_8.0.0.pdf

Regarding the ANTLR version upgrade, it is still an ongoing activity. We will notify the community when it is finished. Therefore, still ANTLR 4.3 is required to build and use the plugins.

Dear sir,

We used this for plugins: This repository is migrated to the Eclipse Foundation GitLab. From now on (2021.04.20) please use this link to access the repository: https://gitlab.eclipse.org/eclipse/titan/titan.EclipsePlug-ins
This for release note: This repository is migrated to the Eclipse Foundation GitLab. From now on (2021.04.20) please use this link to access the repository: https://gitlab.eclipse.org/eclipse/titan/titan.core

We watched tags to expect release.
8.0.0 changed few days ago.

We understand, stay with 4.3 version equipment.
Build 4.7.1 equipment to took some time, can be used later, or waste?

Thank you for generous help.
Kurt

Hi,

I encourage you to switch directly to GitLab.

If you already established an environment for ANTLR 4.7.1 you can keep it. I think one of the upcoming releases will include it. (The version upgrade requires additional efforts due to some backward incompatibility.)
