I recently installed "Eclipse IDE for Java Developers" from the software manager in Linux Mint 20.
Version: 2020-09 (4.17.0)
Build id: 20200910-1200

I don't have Java explicitly installed and I see that when I write and attempt to run a Java program inside Eclipse, it runs fine. But where is Java?
According to my installed JREs in Eclipse, the JRE home is
/app/openjdk-11

However, outside of Eclipse, on my file system, there is no directory "app" at the root of my file system.

What's going on here?
Am I able to call that version of Java (that Eclipse installed) from outside of Eclipse on the command line?

That's a question for whomever packaged those for Mint. It's not handled from eclipse.org.
