I am no longer inclined to waste any more of my time tracking / confirming this error .
Ever since 2020-06 there WAS a problem with highlighting specific text in editor.
It would highlight EVERYTHING PRIOR to selection , up to the START of the text!

Can I ask - is it fixed in 2020-12 ?
Can I highlight SPECIFIC text in editor ?

Simple yes / no will be fine....

In my copies of Eclipse, 2 different on OS X (El Capitan, Catalina) and on 3 different Linux installations, there are no problems in highlighting selected text.

The Eclipse versions include 2020-03, 2020-06, 2020-09 and 2020-12.

I do not see that there is a bug to fix.

Are you using a non-standard theme?
