What's the most recommended c++ IDE to use? [message #1835524] Sat, 05 December 2020 14:23 Go to next message

I've been coding for a few months now and I've only used two IDEs before. They're both slightly different from what I've experienced.

I don't know which IDE I should use, so in your opinion what's the most recommended and why?

There is no such thing as "best" without knowing what the requirements are.
What works for me might not (and probably doesn't) match what works for you.
You are asking us to recommend something without knowing what it is you need.
So we would have to guess.
Rather pointless, really.

That said, there are plenty of people who think they know what is best for you.
I'm sure you'll see them.
And all you'll get is open loop opinion.

You should list what you need then see how the candidates meet your needs.

Eclispe/CDT meets most of my needs.
It probably meets those of other Eclispe/CDT users.
Why would expect something else here?
It's a bit like asking a Classical listener if Hip Hop is better.

FYI:
This question is off topic here and also at places like stackoverflow.
This forum is meant to address issues arising from using Eclipse/CDT.
I don't know if there's an Eclipse forum for general discussion.
Maybe the Newcomers forum.
