Hello,

I'm looking in JustJ sites and couldn't find information about strategy or release plan for future JustJ JRE 11 security patches. May I know the frequency or how would you plan to release the next patch in the future? Please advise.

Thank you!

The main project page states this:

Quote:
The sources of these Java runtimes are any and all versions approved by the Eclipse Foundation for such purposes. Currently that is limited to the latest release available via https://jdk.java.net.

If you explore that site for the available sources, you'll find this link for older releases:

https://jdk.java.net/archive/

The highest version of Java 11 available there is 11.0.2 (build 11.0.2+9).

If and when the Adoptium project makes JDKs available, we will be able to consume those and produce newer versions of older releases of Java:

https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/adoptium

Generally we expect to provide new releases of new versions as they become available to us.

Hi Ed Merks,

I checked (Adoptium) https://adoptopenjdk.net/archive.html, their latest release of JDK is "jdk-11.0.9+11.1" and couldn't find 1.11.02 version from their old releases.
I'm confused which version of JDK should we use for development to match the version of JustJ JRE 1.11.02 when we build our package.
Or can we use version JDK11.0.2 (build 11.0.2+9) for our development directly downloaded from https://jdk.java.net/archive/?
Apology to my questions, as we're trying to move from oracle jdk 8 to openjdk 11.
Please advise. Thanks.

The generated page for update site has tracking details for each simple repository. E.g., for this:

https://download.eclipse.org/justj/jres/11/updates/release/11.0.2/index.html

index.php/fa/39197/0/

So it comes from this specific JDK:

https://download.java.net/java/GA/jdk11/9/GPL/openjdk-11.0.2_windows-x64_bin.zip

Hi Ed Merks,

Good Day.. My question now is not related to JUSTJ but in case you know or have any idea.. Does RCPTT 2.5.1 (latest available for download) supports eclipse 202012? I see IDE 202012 is included in RCPTT 2.5.1 release notes, but it doesn't work when i tried. It only works in 202009.

Actually i logged new topic under RCPTT forum but no luck..

Hoping to have any insights from you. Thank you so much.

Sorry if i comment it here as my last resort.

regards,
Lea

It looks like you launched a self-hosted application and that it doesn't start because your launch includes Ant support but some Ant tasks require JDT and JDT is not included in your launch. So either include fewer bundles/features in your launch or include more in your launch to satisfy everything you are already launching, i.e., include JDT.

Hi Ed Merks,

Thank you so much again for the immediate feedback.

Just to clarify, in RCPTT 2.5.1 what i tried to add as AUT and launch is "eclipse-platform-4.18-win32-x86_64" eclipse ( tried also eclipse modeling) to make sure that errors are not brought or caused by our application.

I would like also to ask confirmation if RCPTT is compatible with eclipse 202012?.

Thanks,
Lea

Yes, I guessed something like that. But keep in mind that this is the JustJ forum and that I have zero knowledge about with AUT means. What I do know in general is that the launcher has a Plug-in tab and that if you go with the default "all workspace and enabled target plug-ins" then everything in your workspace and everything in your target platform is included, and, as I suggested, you either have too much in this list or not enough. But I cannot know what is in your workspace nor how you configured your target platform. If you've done nothing to configure your target platform, it will default to everything installed in the running IDE, and again, I cannot know what that is, but it appears not to include JDT and you've included things that do require JDT.

Hi Ed Merks,

We're able to make eclipse 202012 works with rcptt 2.5.1 after installing latest AspectJ (Equinox Weaving SDK) into eclipse 202012.

Thanks for your help.

regards,
Lea
