Custom data source [message #1833484] Wed, 14 October 2020 09:39 Go to next message

Hi

We have a requirement to take the complete contents of a multi-line text file, and put it into a cell in a BIRT report.

Unfortunately, I cannot manipulate the text file before the BIRT engine gets it. Otherwise I could wrap it in XML tags and make BIRT react to it as an XML data source.

Is there any easy way of achieving this?

Thanks in advance
Phil

You should be able to use csv or excel also. Just need a source that BIRT can read.

Hi Robert
Thanks for the reply. You're right, I need a source that BIRT can read. The complete contents of an unstructured text file doesn't seem to qualify.
Cheers
Phil
