When I select "add task repository" the list is empty.

I have installed egit, the connector as well as the jenkins connector.

What are the requirements for a task connector to appear in the list?

Running Eclipse 2020-09

Is this in the Task Repositories view? Have you tried the Install More Connectors...? That dialog then has a Show Installed checkbox and the ones installed should show up in the Add Task Repository... dialog.

Yes, that's what I tried with no luck. Added the jenkins connector but the menu is still empty.

Was looking forward to using this with github issues so I would not need to leave the ide.

git isn't github, so I'd expect a connector explicitly referring to GitHub being needed for that. The Jenkins connector is, I think, for builds and not tasks.

Yes. But it still baffles me why when I open the connectors window in the add task repo window it's completely empty.

I was hoping there would be a way to connect it to github or another shared task repository.

Nevermind, I must have been doing something incorrectly the first time.

Went to Help -> Install new software and copied "https://download.eclipse.org/egit/github/updates/" into the url bar.

Then I got the option to add the connector and now I can see it.

I was pretty sure I already added the url, perhaps it was the link for egit itself instead.
