C/C++ IDE Java error [message #1833255]

I installed Eclipse IDE for C/C++ using this guide using the guide:
pitapatcat/2020/01/20/eclipse-ide-for-c-c-on-windows/

I've followed it to the letter, but when I try running the basic pre-baked 'Hello World!' program I get the following error:

An internal error occurred during: "Launching i2".
java.lang.NullPointerException[

I tried following the fix for someone else who reported an identical error:

The fix provided in this by following a certain link is no longer feasible, due to the destination of that link no longer exists.

Any help would be appreciated.
