Jave Error message starting " Capella " program (Solved) [message #1830157]

Hello,
I am super new, i know absolute very little on capella.

I have been advised to use Capella and learn it for professionnal reasons, but when i did and extracted the folder and opened the exe file, i got this error message :

(check attached file)

I went to check Java and made an update, it said i have the last update on. So what could be the problem?

Edir : I think it has something to do with the config . ini file ? (check the attached file )

Yes it is.

While the page you linked provide a real solution, which is to re installe Java JRE ( Here : https://www.java.com/fr/download/windows-64bit.jsp)
I had to do something else :
I modified the "eclipse.ini" file found inside the CAPELLA FOLDER (NOT the one inside eclipse-java folder)
And had to add this 2 lines above "-vmargs" line :

Quote:

-vm
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_261\bin

Now it works out!
Thank you Tauno. Good look to whomever is reading this in 2021,2022 or 2023.

edit : I forgot to mention, a youtube video helped me a bit, Type : "!!Solved!!Eclipse Error Java was started but returned exit code = 1"

Thanks. Positive feedback keeps the response engine running.

Please install a full JDK, and not only a JRE. You'll be better off later.

Had the same issue did exactly this except had to modify the path for the Java/Bin Folder on my computer.

Would have been really helpful if there was a link to this forum post on the installation guide page.

Looking forward to using and learning Capella.
