Brand new Windows 10
Tried to install Eclipse, but it could not find Java and asked if I wanted to browse for it. Exited because Java had not yet been installed.
Installed Java jre1.8.0_251.
Relaunched Eclipse installer, but it immediately jumps to https://download.eclipse.org/oomph/jre/?vm=1_1_8_0_64_0&pn=Eclipse%20Installer&pu=http://wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse_Installer&pi=http://download.eclipse.org/oomph/jre/128x128.png
telling me Java is missing. NO opportunity to browse for it.

Now that I have java installed, how do I get the installer to recognize that?

Did you install a 64-bit Java JRE, or a 32-bit one? Modern versions of Eclipse and the installer expect a 64-bit JRE.

Hmm... Yeah, I could have sworn I installed the 64 bit version, but it was not.
Once it was there, Eclipse installed.
