I have several database drivers listed because I have been attempting to add a database connection to no avail as described in another one of my forum posts in this forum. How does one remove extraneous entries in the drop-down pictured in the attachment?

Try this one:
Open Eclipse -> click on search button (or cmd+3 on Mac) -> type in "manage driver" -> click on "Preferences (data Management > Connectivity > Driver Definitions)" -> choose the drivers you don't need and remove them
