Operation lockout after starting multiple operations [message #1827905] Tue, 26 May 2020 12:32 Go to next message

Hi,

I'm not sure whether or not this is a PDT issue or something deeper in Ecplise, but since I started using Eclipse I've been very aware of the
absolute danger of having more than one operation running at a time. With operation I mean almost anything given that can be "run in background".
You are often tempted by this, I mean it should in theory mean you could continue to work. But very often what I end up with is a operation that is
going nowhere (Eclipse is using 0% of the CPU) while I have other operations, such as file saving, behind waiting for it to finish. At times
I have had Eclipse standing in this state for an entire weekend without it getting anywhere. Stopping the operations helps little as it seems Eclipse
are unable to really kill it (this might be a Windows issue).

I'm using the 1.0.3 Release Build on Windows XP SP 2 but have been having this problem for as long as I can remember with Eclipse and PHP.

Thanks

PDT 1.0 was released 13 years ago. Are sure it's your version?

Latest version is 7.1, 7.2 will be released next month. Also recently we moved our tracker to GitHub: http://github.com/eclipse/pdt

The versions you've mentioned are more than a decade out of date. Please follow the directions on https://www.eclipse.org/pdt/ to get onto a supported release.
