Version: Eclipse IDE for PHP Developers

Version: 2019-03 (4.11.0)
Build id: 20190314-1200

OS: Mac running Mojave

I have gone through all the options I can find in Preferences for automatically close and turned them all off (searched 'typing') and yet in the HTML/XML editor I'm still getting quotes auto-closing, and incorrectly at that.

Is there some global "don't type stuff for me" setting? I'd love that.

In my attached screenshot, the " after the cursor added itself automatically. It does this all the time and it's driving me bonkers.

With which editor did you open that file? Also, check the Edit menu for an option to disable Smart Insert, that might do it.

I'm using HTML editor. That smart insert thing I tried before but the cursor is horrible.

Yikes. You can turn off the custom caret under General->Editors->Text Editors->Accessibility if you do not need it.

You can report is as a bug using https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/enter_bug.cgi?product=WTP%20Source%20Editing&component=wst.html
