Hi
I recall that some time ago there were indications that the most basic Sirius use case was to be addressed:
Given a myModel.xxx for which a Sirius editor is registered in plugin.xml
Select myModel.xxx
Invoke the Create Diagram/ Initialize Diagram menu entry
Edit diagram
Save with graphics to e.g myModel.gmf-xxx
Subsequently, double click myModel.gmf-xxx and the Sirius editor is there again.
Just like the old Ecore Diagram Editor used to do.
NB.
User is 100% ignorant of special perspectives; it works in any explorer view
User is 100% ignorant of Viewpoints and such like
The graphics saved for myModel.xxx is 100% orthogonal to the graphics saved for anotherModel.xxx; i.e. it does not need to be updated in GIT when anotherModel is saved
I ask this because I have once again tried to use my Ecore instance diagram editor and have been astonished at how really really hard it is. Without my previous usage to emulate, I might have given up. I was the author and can hardly use it. How can anyone else?
OK, the missing menu entry is my bad that should be solved by a Sirius facility, but the inability to save a *.gmf-xxx per *.xxx regardless of perspective is Sirius' very very bad.
I hope someone will point me at a tutorial that shows that all my desires are now fulfilled.
