| GWT + Eclipse = Eclipse Online [message #337045] | Thu, 23 July 2009 14:36 | |
| Eclipse User | | | | | Would it be possible to, using Google Web Tools, make like online.eclipse.org, where we would have an online editor? If GWT can
convert from Java to HTML/Javascript as it brags, is it possible to have
 an online editor?

There is already an Eclipse project that enables running Eclipse-based
applications in a browser. See the RAP project: http://www.eclipse.org/rap/

Now, the idea of a hosted Eclipse instance that is available for all to
use... I don't know if anyone has suggested that before. I suggest you
enter a feature request into Bugzilla about it. I believe RAP falls
under the Runtime (RT) category in Bugzilla.
Please post the bug URL if you enter one, so the rest of us can follow
 along.

 Hope this helps,
 Eric
