Java 12 Advanced LookUp Disabled [message #1819031] Sun, 05 January 2020 11:33 Go to next message
Eclipse UserFriend
Good morning,

I'm a newcomer to Eclipse and to programming overall . I come across this message when I hit the debug button. "JRE Oracle Corporation/12.0.1 is not supported, advanced source lookup disabled."

Could you please explain what advanced source lookup is and what its purpose is? What does this message means? Is it indicating I'm having a problem? Does having "advanced source lookup disabled" impact my ability to fully test and debug and program effectively? Other than this message, I'm not noticing any other bugs or potential errors. Any advice and assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have Eclipse version Version: 2019-06 (4.12.0)
Build id: 20190614-1200

Checked for updates. This appears to be the latest of Eclipse that I'm aware of.

Thank you, I really appreciate it,
Michelle

If you installed the 2019-12 version or updated to this version from the http://download.eclipse.org/releases/2019-12 site, it has support for Java 12. More details about this message are mentioned here:
