Since I cannmot find how to delete this post.

STAND_BY
I found this and it may help
to "JUST update local repository to match current gihub repoostory.
No commit , branch etc,

https://wiki.eclipse.org/Main_Page

Did not find anything in "help with synchronize"

Very basic questions
I am assuming "synchronize" means get new / changed code from github?
Form / dialog saiz "Fetch changes from remote " - does it mean remote -github ?, not local repository.

If so
do I want

use patch
or use git

If I use "git"
what are the "destination " options for ?

I need to get new file from github and so far no luck.

It sure looks that "git clone" would be much easier to "synchronize" local with remote , but I have made some changes I like to keep.
.

I have cloned a software to local repository.
That software has been changed in github repository - file was added.
I want to update - include the added file - into my copy in local repository.
I do not want to run git clone to build ANOTHER local repository - made few changes ( in local repository) I wan to keep.
I like to use EGit to accomplish this.

Use Pull from the context menu of the clone in the Git repositories view (in the Git perspective).
