Hi

I am at my wits end. Searched and tried lots of things. Nothing works.

My problem is previewing my Birt reports. I am using Java 8 and Birt 4.7.0 from Eclipse 2019-03.

When I design my reports and try to preview it. Nothing, absolutely nothing happens. I use the view report toolbar. None of the options work.
See below :
index.php/fa/36432/0/

My preferences are set as follows :
index.php/fa/36435/0/

Browser settings as follows :
index.php/fa/36436/0/

I have even changed the browser settings to Default and tried IE 11 as browser nothing.

I have aslo tried putting these two line in the eclipse.ini :

-Dorg.eclipse.swt.browser.DefaultType=ie,mozilla

-Dorg.eclipse.swt.browser.IEVersion=7000

Nothing.

Then I read : Birt Web Viewer, so far, doesn't work with Java 8. You have to use Java 7, or inferior ( https://stackoverflow.com/a/43898874/4158213 ).

I am now totally confused and are about to give up on BIRT.

Can anyone please help me?

Nope. I think BIRT is dead. I do no think any development is being done on BIRT.
I also think that Eclipse, keeping us in the dark is acting somewhat immoral. Can it be trusted with other products? Should this forum exist at all?
Trying to work through a mayhem of possible fixes cost me two days of my life with no result.
