Hi There,
we're using ECF in one of our features as 'Included Feature'. In the previews version (2019-03) we especially used also the features
- org.eclipse.ecf.filetransfer.httpclient4.feature and
- org.eclipse.ecf.filetransfer.httpclient4.ssl.feature
With Eclipse 2019-06 these features seem to be gone!?
While the first seems to be replaced by the feature org.eclipse.ecf.filetransfer.httpclient45.feature, we could not find a SSL-version of it.
Do we have to expect any problems with this issue? What for the SSL feature can be used and will it be used by p2?
Thanks in advance!
Best wishes,
Christian

Hi Christian. Yes the httpclient4 feature was replaced by the httpclient45 feature. See this contribution issue:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=544447
WRT the ssl fragment, please see this response to my questions about the need for the httpclient4.ssl feature here:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=544447#c16
Carsten seemed to think that the httpclient45.ssl fragment was not necessary given apache httpclient 4.5.
The ECF https/ssl unit test cases succeeded without any httpclient45 ssl provider, and so I'm assuming that the p2 test cases (which just use https-based file transfer I believe) would also succeed. We haven't yet received any reports of https-based bundle installs having any problems with 45, but if you are experiencing problems and/or want more answers about specifics about 45 you should probably post a question to Carsten on bug 544447.
Note also that part of httpclient45 was the addition of a windows-specifc fragment...which you will see in the httpclient45 feature and on windows eclipse installs. This was for addressing proxy issues on windows, and again Carsten has more info than I do via 544447.
Thanks.
