This may not be the right place for this question, but I'm not sure where else to post it.

The ability to define compare filters (ICompareFilter) is exactly what we need for one of our requirements. This provides a clean, simple implementation.

However, when I define the extension in plugin.xml, I get a warning that the extension point is considered internal and not for client use. I can't find any other documentation on how to introduce a compare filter.

So why is this feature tucked away under an internal extension point? Is there a preferred method for introducing compare filters?
