Java Search by type seems broken [message #1809662]

The java search tab help indicates that you can search by parameterized type, like List<String>, but this actually ends up returning all Lists.
This bug detailing the issue has been open for 8 years with basically no activity.

Is there any way to get this addressed?

Time is money: $€£¥ Unless you have the time to do it yourself, money is the only remaining option. And even then, you still have to find the person with the time, the skills, the inclination, and the commit rights...
