If this is in the wrong place, I apologize.

I use Eclipse CDT, but have a variety of programming languages in it (no Java though). I love Eclipse and it works well for the most part.

One annoyance though is that when editing a line that is indented (doesn't matter if it is spaces or a tab), the editor removes ALL whitespace in front of the line. I rely a bit on indentation to keep some of my files readable, and having to consistently redo all of my tabs each time I have to edit a line is quite annoying, especially when I'm editing multiple lines.

It does it in both C/C++ files and shell scripts.

I've tried searching and playing around with settings to no avail. It has persisted through many versions so I'm probably just missing something.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

I'm running the following version:

Eclipse IDE for C/C++ Developers

Version: 2019-03 (4.11.0)
Build id: 20190314-1200
