Hi everyone,

I'm a beginner working on a project requiring TCP/IP with 4diac.
So I tried to copy the example provided on the official website.
But when I try to deploy it I've got many errors (UNSUPPORTED TYPE, INVALID STATE, NO SUCH OBJECT and more...) in the deployment console.
I'd like to know what I did wrong.

Thanks,

Hi,

May I ask which version of 4diac IDE and 4diac FORTE you are using. Normally the UNSUPPORTED TYPE error message means that the type you are trying to deploy is not available in your 4diac FORTE. For that it would be good to see the very first error message of your deployment. If you have compiled your own 4diac FORTE have you enabled the convert module?

Cheers,
Alois

Thanks for answering but nevermind, I managed to make it work. Nonetheless do you have any datasheet related to Client/Server FB ?

Thanks,

Hi we support quite some different kind of communication. The default behavior of Client/Server is based on IEC 61499-1 Annex E Information exchange. The TCP version is based on the "IEC 61499 Compliance Profile for Feasibility Demonstration" [1]. For other protocols (e.g., OPC UA) please have a look in our documentation. I hope this helps you.

Cheers,
Alois

Hello dear Alois,

In my case, it says "NO SOCKET". can you please have a look at the attached picture. Where 192.168.0.101 is the ip address of device at which server is running and client is at localhost PC.
Thanks for your comments. The publish and subscribe are working normal with udp .

Hi,

as a general tip for debugging communication issues is always to first just run the initialization and only if that worked send a REQ event. Because, as it is in your case, it is otherwise not possible to see if initialization worked. Cleint/Server connections have one speciality: The server needs to be initialized before the client. Therefore in your case I would depoly the device with the server first and then afterwards the device with the client.

I hope this helps.

Cheers,
Alois
