Hi Acceleo Team and Forum Members,

In the model-to-text transformation, we are working on, there is a need to take the input from different kind of models (.xmi's and .uml) and generate the output files. The question is: does the Acceleo model-to-text transformation support different kind of input models in .mtl file?

Best Regards,

Samina

Hi

Yes. Anything that loads as a generic EMF Resource should work. i.e.. does Open With ... the Sample Ecore Model Editor work?

Hi again,

Thank you so much for your reply,

There is no problem if we perform the transformation with one model at a time. The problem in our case is working with multiple models simultaneously. In our case, we have different top-level elements for the models. As an example, we can create two .uml models, with different Model Objects (Model and Package). In the first model, we name the Model Object "model A" and add some element(s) such as Class A. In the second model, the Package is given a name "package B" and we add some element(s) such as Class B. Is it possible that we execute both models at a time, for example, by giving a reference of the second model in the Acceleo launcher, so that the elements from both models can be transformed to the desired files using the .mtl file.

Best regards,
Samina

Hii

I don't see the problem. Acceleo uses EMF Resources. You may have to customize the Acceleo auto-generated 'main' of course.
