Hi,
I'm starting to use Eclipse Photon [Version: 2018-09 (4.9.0) Build id: 20180917-1800] and I create a new Scout project following the wizard.
But after the completion of the automatic project creation operations, report to me one error about maven plugins.

here the complete error message

Hello Marco

This looks like a network connectivity issue:
Quote:

Please make sure you can reach Maven Central - in Linux you can test this by using curl on the commandline ( curl https://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2/ )

A typical issue in corporate environments is that you may need to set a proxy. You can set this in the Maven settings file (make sure that it is in the proper location or pass it using the proper flag) like this: Configuring a proxy

Hi Patrick,
with the browser I reach without problem the link https://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2/
I checked and I haven't settings.xml file in the folder that is suggested inside the guide, I created it but the problem remains.
To create this file I used the information of my corporate proxy that I found in the Internet Option on my laptop

<settings>

  <proxies>
   <proxy>
      <id>czv-proxy</id>
      <active>true</active>
      <protocol>http</protocol>
      <host>127.0.0.1</host>
      <port>9000</port>
      <username>xxxxx</username>
      <password>xxxxx.</password>
      <nonProxyHosts>repo.maven.apache.org</nonProxyHosts>
    </proxy>
  </proxies>

</settings>

Other suggestion or something to check?

The "nonProxyHosts" directive in the configuration excludes the mentioned hosts from the proxy directive. In your case, that would exclude maven central again from the proxying, so you're back where you started.
Simply keep the directive empty for now for it to take effect.

If your company also proxies HTTPS connections, you'll need a second proxy entry (different id, protocol=https, rest identical).

Please note: Depending on your setup, you may need to also configure Eclipse to use the proxy as well.
In the Preferences -> General -> Network connection, you'll may need to switch to manual and edit the HTTP/HTTPS entries with the values you used for the settings.xml

Hi Patrick,
I correct the settings in accord to your suggestion; I also configure the Network connection in Eclipse in the same ways.
But unfortunately the situation remain the same with the same error.
