Text Editor: Totally hiding regions of the text [message #334654] Mon, 23 February 2009 10:23
Eclipse UserFriend
Hello,

I'd want to totally hide some regions of the edited text to the user. So that I can embed some "metadata" with some text regions, but not show these metadata at all.

Is this possible with the out of the box Projection Annotation support ?

I fear not, that is, I fear that the projection annotation support will still want to show some collapse/expand button, and will also want to show some part of the text.

Am I right ?

If so, is it possible to "chain" ProjectionDocumentManagers so that I can hide my parts in my own provided implementation, and yet still gracefully leverage what eclipse provides out of the box for
text folding ?

If you have the answers to this question, thanks in advance, it will prevent me from wasting my time if it is not feasible at all.

Regards,
