Warnings: Discouraged in HTML5 documents? [message #1793791] Wed, 15 August 2018 20:21 Go to next message

Hello there,
I am preparing a presentation about HTML5 and I realised some irritating warnings in Eclipse. When I use the <u> and the <s> tag i get the message, that these elements are absolete / discouraged in HTML5.

But my reserche shows, that these are legal HTML5 elements. Is this a bug?
The following link shows the list of HTML5-Documents:
https://www.w3.org/TR/2012/WD-html-markup-20121025/elements.html

I too is facing the same problem, tried several processes to fix this, but nothing helped me to fix this. Check many forums but got no reply regarding this matter. Thanks, in advance for helping us!

's' might be a bug interpreting its note on when not to use it, in which case you should file a bug through https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/enter_bug.cgi?product=WTP%20Source%20Editing&component=wst.html , but https://www.w3.org/TR/html52/textlevel-semantics.html#the-u-element clearly advises against using the 'u' element.
