Immediate cancellation of Progress Monitor Dialog [message #334250]

Hi
I have progress monitor dialog to display progress for long process.
I want to cancel it as soon as i click on Cancel button without waiting
for current task to be completed in progress monitor dialog. ( I don't
want
to wait till current task to be finished as it is happening now as my
current task might take a long time to finish)

It seems that it is not possible to Cancel progress monitor dialog
immediately.
Is there any other workaround for this requirement?
Any help will be highly appreciated.

I think the idea is that your long-running process periodically checks
the monitor, whether a cancel was requested and if so, performs this
cancellation.

By adjusting the frequency of these checks you can control the
"immediateness" of your cancellation.
