Hello,

my anticipated workflow for diagram users consists of adding a few parts from the tools palette and then connecting them together with the only Edge Creating Tool.
It gets quickly tedious to keep selecting the same tool again and again to connect the parts with each other.
Is there any way to make the process easier?

In the current state, one still has to select the generic tool each time. We've opened https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=531614 as a possible approach to make this easier in the future. The idea would be to have a keyboard modifier (maybe Alt-click if it's not already taken) which would automatically activate the generic tool without the need to go to the palette. At the moment we do not know if/when we'll work on this improvement though.
