I used Google, as the most direct method of finding out things about Eclipse and how it works, to discover where screen font sizes can be changed. (Some code is displayed in such a small font that I have to put on my close reading glasses.) All the information I found was old and not true of the latest Eclipse version.

Did they really take away the ability to set fonts sizes, or is it hidden somewhere that I have been unable to discover?

IIRC it's always been on the same Colors and Fonts preference page. The Text font in the Basic category should apply to all text editors where you haven't set a non-default value.
