I wonder where is the option to get a flattened version of a given state machine.

Hello Bea.

There is no option to obtain flattened state machines in the UI. The code generator flattens state machines as part of the generation process, to use them as an intermediate representation, but this is not exposed to the user. By the way, this only flattens individual state machines, i.e. it does not flatten the composition of state machines from parts of a composite capsule. Furthermore, the flattening is not done on the UML model directly but rather in an internal representation called XtUML-RT.
