I created a project and then deleted it from the disk, saving the .c and .h files needed for the project. I then recreated the same project from the original folder that I imported into the new project which is named the same as the originally deleted project. Then I did a build and all worked out as expected: the .exe file is in the binaries directory, and the .o and .exe files are in the debug directory. So I should be able to run this project, but when I try to do so I get "A program file was not specified in the launch configuration." error message and no run time of the .exe files happens. There must be a problem with the project properties setup, but I cannot find out what that is.

It's probably better to ask on the CDT forum: https://www.eclipse.org/forums/eclipse.tools.cdt
