Synchronized Project files not updating, can not figure out why [message #1783608]

I have a synchronized project in Eclipse 4.7.2 Oxygen.

I have a copy of the files on my computer, and a copy is up on a remote server.

Changes I make on my computer are no longer being synched up on the server. I haven't been able to figure out why.

I tried deleting all project meta files client side and I deleted all of the ptp-sync-* folders server side. I reset up the Synchronized Project. Still nothing.

I've tried post elsewhere, but have gotten no response. Are these types of projects still supported?

If so, any clues as to what the problem might be would be appreciated.

If not, are there alternatives with getting the goodness of Eclipse, but getting files synched automatically without a "Synchronized Project"?

Please forgive my ignorance, but how are you creating a 'Synchronized' project?

File > New > Other > Synchronized PHP Project

Then I provide values for

Project name, Local directory, Connection name, Remote directory

I posted here because I got no response there and in another thread the developers wrote that they mostly copied their Synchronized project feature from the one written for the CDT.
