HELP! I am trying to create an optional prompt, but the only way I can get the prompt to display is making it mandatory.

Doesnt' display = DD

Steps tried
Create a non-mandatory prompt - DD
Put the parameter in the Query, but unless its mandatory - DD
Put the parameter in the filter of the query - DD
Put the parameter in the properties of the table 3rd tab past binding - DD

We are using BMC Remedy with BIRT 2.5.1
