When the installer start ask me the user and password, and I insert my network credentials that are authorized to surf the web.

I want install Eclipse Oxygen with Scout behind proxy; what is the correct procedure to follow?
I already tried with installer but give me a problem when I want create a new project or I try to check the update and so on

Thanks in advance for your help and explanation

Marco

Did you use the menu to configure your network proxy preferences? You say " give me a problem when I want create a new project or I try to check the update" but that sounds to me like you actually installed an IDE and have this problem in an IDE. But the stack trace above is from using the installer. I don't understand how you second comment about problems with new projects and updates relates to the installer problem. Note that you can always download a package from https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/eclipse-packages/ and use that directly, but yes, any updates or attempts to install new software are likely to have exactly the same problem as the installer, and the solution is the same, i.e., configure your network proxy preferences.

Hi,
yes, I try first with the installer and after I download directly the package.
I configured in both way the proxy information, but probably I make a mistake during the configuration.
Where I can find a detailed procedure to configure the proxy in Installer or/and in the IDE?

I Googled "eclipse network proxy settings" and that turns up a bunch of links. I'm really not familiar with all the various proxy configuration mechanisms given I'm not behind a corporate firewall...

Many thanks for the suggestions and for the fast reply. Now I search in Google.
