We are using ReportDesignHandle.serialize(FileOutputStream) to save the Report design object. But when there is not enough space in the file system, nothing is written to file by BIRT and it doesn't throw any exception.

Later on BIRT is trying to open the report design object and it couldn't find the reportDesignHandle resulting in ViewerException "There is no report design object available".

Any pointers to why BIRT is not throwing any exception white writing the report design to file?
