Hi all new to Birt and wondering if and how to use the results of one dataset as a parameter in another?

The scenaro i am working with is i have a list of vehicle ids and licence plate numbers which i am wanting to find trips for.

Using where txt_lpn =ABC123 is costly via sql.
My thought was to use seperate queries one to look up the id for the lpn and pass over as an imput to the main query.

Been a while since you posted this but its exactly what I am trying to do and I can't find out how to do it.
