I am thinking about implementing a feature where user can drop objects onto a visual container. This container will lock positions of objects within it, so if user moves container - objects move with it. But if user selects object within a container, he can move it within the container, or move it outside of it. User can create connection from objects within the container or creation connection with objects outside of visual container. I don't think this is a trivial task, that's why I was wondering if something like this, or variation of this feature already exists so I can build on it and not start from scratch.

Alex,

maybe not exactly and not that easy to understand because the implementation is rather generic for the different supported objects, but you may have a look into our Sketch test tool. It allows users to nest shapes into each other, move them within and also move them out.
