Here is how I am starting eclipse:
eclipse -clean -vm /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.7.0_80.jdk/Contents/Home/bin/

Here is what I have tried so far:
(1) Rebooted machine
(2) Deleted configuration/org.eclipse.osgi/.manager/.fileTable*
(3) Tried starting eclipse with -vm parameter pointing to java7/java8/java9.

I haven't touched config.ini file for years.

I really appreciate any help/pointers.

Thanks in advance.

jenv would seem to be involved, somehow. Have you tried any remedies with it?
