Name for new version of Eclipse [message #1766632]

Hi team,

This topic I created for upcoming version of Eclipse. Here I just want to suggest a name as 'Patriot' for next release of Eclipse.

Already we are having, Neon, Oxygen .. and that might be followed by P.

So this name has a chance to get attached with next Eclipse release.

Each year a Bugzilla is opened for name suggestions: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=510201
Then there is a poll to find out what names are popular. Then the foundation staff does a review to ensure that the chosen name won't result in trademark or branding problems and the most popular remaining name is chosen.
Next year will be Photon: https://wiki.eclipse.org/Photon/Simultaneous_Release_Plan

Hi,

The decision was already taken a while ago by the community. See discussion at https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=510201 for the various proposals, process for selection and votes.
The name of the Simultaneous Release in 2018 will be Photon.
