Search in file, not working on new Neo install [message #1764539] Wed, 31 May 2017 02:41 Go to next message

Eclipse Neon 3 fresh install.
When I use the File search, no results are given.
Files are scanned, extension pattern is correct, but no result. It seems only the result in current open file are highlighted.
The usual search view doesn't appear.

I tried to remove the content of org.eclipse.jdt.core and restarting eclipse, no changes

Did you pick the right scope to search?

Yup its crap
Copied a word direct from a cpp file in my workspace and searched for it, zero results

But then actually the whole thing is beginning to seriously disappoint, very slow, very buggy, prone to close half my windows when I didnt ask, the only thing vaguely in its favour is the errors reported on build are not as stupidly verbose and misleading as the crap thats now turned out by GCC

But then look at this website... tiny unreadable characters on an image to confirm yourself, stupid password rules for a forum I really dont care if someone imitates me on and then when you click the confirmation mail and put in yet another set of stupid characters (that mean magnifying the screen and guessing) you get shown the registration form again....
