I have the following situation: I have adjusted a lot of eclipse preferences over time. After upgrading to Neon I want to share them between computers using my eclipse.org account.

How can I do this? I was only able to share preferences, which I changed since I enabled the recorder. Do I have to start over with adjusting my preferences to get them recorded?

You can also capture the current state of any preference. Use Navigate -> Open Setup -> User and click on the "Capture Preferences" toolbar button. This shows all instance scoped preferences and you can selectively choose which ones you want to capture as a preference task in the user.setup. Then you should be able to synchronize those with your account as well.

Thanks for the answer. It worked :)
Is there a possibility to access the user setup online on eclipse.org directly without using eclipse?

Your Eclipse.org account web page has a Storage tab and that lists the storage each application has stored there but it doesn't let you inspect what's stored. Only an application using the proper application token and your private credentials can access the storage. So no, you can't really use it without Eclipse...
