| Update when behind a caching web proxy [message #332026] | Wed, 01 October 2008 11:17 | |
| Eclipse User | | | | | Update sometimes seems to have trouble if you are behind a web proxy that caches resources for a bit too long and does not check with the
origin server every time it gets a request. When version numbers
change as happened recently you can get old names from the cached copy
of the resource that describes the update site and errors when those
resources turn out not to be there any more.

One way to work around this problem seems to be to use the update site
URL in a web browser and use the force-refresh feature. This is rather
tedious, especially if there are several sites to deal with.

Is there any way to get update to add a cache-control header to its
request to tell intervening caches to re-validate themselves?
