I'm using Eclipse Java EE Neon.3. When I toggle split editor the exclamation mark (that means there are warnings) near file icon in the tab disappears. Is this a bug or a feature? If this is a feature, can someone explain why it was implemented this way?

Thanks. I searched Eclipse bugzilla but I couldn't find any bugs because I didn't know they are called overlay icons.
