It suddenly started that when I start Eclipse I get the error:
Could not initialize class org.eclipse.jdt.core.JavaConventions

When I open any project in Package Explorer, I will see src (but without the folder icon) and there will be nothing inside.

Restarting Eclipse, rebooting, re-importing a project does not help.

The problem is, at least for the time being, resolved. I had networked my external drive, which contains my eclipse installation. Thinking that might have caused the problem, I deleted the share. But the problem still persisted. When I turned off the other computer, however, the problem went away.
