Help requested to implement a bugfix [message #1755567] Sun, 05 March 2017 14:53 Go to next message

Windows 10 64 fully updated.
Downloaded the .zip file for bugfix 463744.

I need help in two areas.

1. When I extract this file, I am told that some of the file names are too long.
eclipse.jdt.core-eb3f2eebbee36420494fc8378078fc597d739870.zip

The extract fails,

2. How can I update oxygen 4.7.0 M5? with this file?

Any help will be appreciated.

According to that Bugzilla, the fix is already in Oxygen M4. So if you install the latest Oxygen from https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/index-developer.php?oxygen you'll have the fix. Is that what you're doing, and instead of using the installer (which won't have unzip problems), you're trying to unzip a downloaded package. Use something like 7-Zip instead of Window's own unzip because that often has strange problems.

Thanks for this, I have the M5 version so is M4 newer?
On a check for updates, I am told I there are no updates.
If not, then, I still have the bug and the system pointed to this fix.
I always use 7-zip to extract any .zip files.

Any other suggestions.

There will be no updated until M6. You can ask on the Bugzilla if the fix is really available in the M5 Oxygen update site and if not, where you can get it now.
