[mars] docx4j - how to use [message #1755161] Tue, 28 February 2017 10:29 Go to next message

Hi all,
I'm starting to use docx4j in my scout application and I'm following the tutorial "Scout/HowTo/5.0/Creating Word Reports with Docx4j".

I wanted to understand if it is mandatory to start from a template created in Word, or I can create the structure of the document via source code and after save or show the result?
In the first case, how the template should be built in Word to populate a table properly?

Thanks in advance for any information and explanation who can provide me Smile

Hi,

I start with a template. In the template there are placeholders. In the code I replace the placeholders. For a table I have only one placeholder. I generate the whole table in code and replace the placeholder with this table.
