Adding sub-report aggregate to a report value [message #1750877]

I have a sub-report within a report to populate an invoice. The first scripted dataset returns a single row of data that includes text and numbers that are used to build the invoice. The second scripted dataset is added as a table with an aggregate subtotal. The subtotal and tax amount show correctly on the report but I cannot see how to add these values together to display a final total. I only see one dataset in the expression builder depending if I am in the grid or the sub-report.
