Hello again,
See attached picture, of using the GEF4 SugiyamaLaoutAlgorithm for an example profiling graph. It is coming along nicely, as you can see, but one imperfection is the right-skewed-ness. Obviously in this case all nodes with a single predecessor could have been places right under the predecessor!

Is there a cure for this?

Hello Thomas,

there is no option to make it behave differently, so you would need to dig into the internals to improve the algorithm, or write your own. You can take a look at [1] for an improved Sugiyama layout algorithm.
